With four major theme parks it's no wonder your visit to Walt Disney World will be that magical vacation you see advertised on television. With four great theme parks and plenty of excellent hotels and resorts you'll be making fabulous memories.
There are 4 theme parks at Walt Disney World - Animal Kingdom, MGM Studios, Epcot, and the infamous Magic Kingdom which by itself it larger than the entire California Disneyland.
The days of a cheap vacation to Walt Disney World are gone. In fact not only can it be expensive it can be complex and confusing and you can find yourself running out of time. Here are 8 great tips to help you get the most out of your Walt Disney World Magical Vacation.
Tip #1 - Think carefully about the time you are picking to visit Walt Disney World - off season is much less crowded but not always functional.
Tip #2 - Make sure you check for scheduled closures. You'd be really disappointed if your big goal was to visit Cinderella's Castle and it was closed for maintenance when you arrived.
Tip #3 - If you go early to the theme parks you will avoid long lines. For example Animal Kingdom closes earlier than the other parks so the lines can build quickly. Just like fishing the early bird wins.
Tip #4 - Take a nap or a time out in mid afternoon. Kids [and adults] tend to be getting cranky by then, and mid afternoon is so very hot to be standing in line ups. Instead go back to your room - nap, relax at the pool, or do what ever it is that refreshes you.
Tip #5 - Make sure you bring along drinks and snacks for the whole family and that they are age appropriate. It will save you a bundle with the small vendors inflated prices. Also with the hot humid days the kids are going to be thirsty a lot. Remember that water quenches the thirst best.
Tip #6 - There's no question that food is a bit pricey in the theme parks, especially the walk by or fast food kind of vendors. Consider taking in one the large buffets that are offered at different sites. It's a lot more fun and there's entertainment too, better food, and it can work out to about the same price or less.
Tip #7 - If you don't do well in really hot humid weather don't visit Walt Disney World during the summer months. These times can be especially trying with very young children and long line ups - it might not be long before you are wondering what kind of vacation is this? Remember the park is open late during the summer months and it's still really warm but not scorching.
Tip #8 - Check their online site for special events such as the Disney Christmas with the spectacular light display.
Your visit to Walt Disney World should be a magical and memorable experience for the entire family and some pre-planning will make it just that. There's so much to see and do that you'll be back time and time again!
